Physical Education Teacher – York Elementary & York High School

York Public Schools is accepting applications for a Physical Education Teacher who will split their time between York Elementary School and York High School. We are seeking a dynamic, energetic educator who is passionate about promoting fitness, wellness, and lifelong healthy habits in students of all ages.

Position Details:

• Full-time, certified teaching position
• Split assignment between elementary and high school levels
• Start Date:  August 2026

Responsibilities Include:

• Planning and delivering engaging physical education lessons for elementary and high school students
• Promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and positive sportsmanship
• Organizing and supervising activities, intramurals, or special events
• Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and other staff to support student wellness
• Maintaining accurate records and ensuring a safe learning environment

Coaching Opportunities Available:

• Head Boys Basketball
• Assistant Cross Country

Qualifications:

• Valid Nebraska Teaching Certificate (or ability to obtain) with Physical Education endorsement
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
• Ability to engage and motivate students across a wide age range
• Coaching experience preferred but not required
