Pre School Teacher

Weeping Water Public Schools is seeking a caring, energetic, and highly qualified Preschool Teacher to join our early childhood team. Position Summary

The Preschool Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering high-quality early childhood instruction that supports the academic, social-emotional, physical, and language development of young learners. The teacher will create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment aligned with Nebraska Early Learning Guidelines and district expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons and learning experiences.

  • Foster a nurturing classroom environment that promotes social-emotional growth and positive behavior.

  • Support early literacy, numeracy, communication, and motor skill development through play-based and structured learning.

  • Assess student growth using developmentally appropriate screening and assessment tools.

  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and developmental milestones.

  • Collaborate with families to support student learning and development.

  • Work cooperatively with special education staff, paraprofessionals, and related service providers.

  • Implement accommodations and interventions as needed to support diverse learners.

  • Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment.

  • Participate in professional development and district collaboration activities.

Qualifications

  • Valid Nebraska teaching certificate with Early Childhood or Early Childhood Inclusive endorsement (or ability to obtain).

  • Knowledge of early childhood development and best instructional practices.

  • Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills.

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.

  • Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred but not required.
