Special Education Teacher.
REPORTS TO: Principal, Superintendent
SALARY: Per Negotiated Agreement
EVALUATION: At Least Semi-annually by Principal with Teacher Evaluation Form
HOURS OF WORK: 7:30 am to 4:00 pm and as needed for meetings and events
DAYS OF WORK: According to the Contract and District Calendar
SICK LEAVE: 10 days per school year, can accumulate up to 30 days (no pay for unused)
BEREAVEMENT LEAVE: 5 days per school year
PERSONAL LEAVE: 2 days per school year, can accumulate up to 4 days (no pay for unused)
MEDICAL INSURANCE: The District pays for full family health insurance and employee dental insurance. The employee may purchase family dental insurance.
RETIREMENT: 9.78% of wages are deducted from paychecks for deposit in a retirement account. The District matches that amount at 9.8778%. The State also makes a 2% contribution.
OTHER: AFLAC Insurance is available for life, health, dental, vision, and disability. A 403b retirement plan is available
DUTIES: Meeting or exceeding school district evaluation standards in the areas of 1) planning and preparation, 2) the classroom environment, 3) instruction, 4) professional responsibilities, and 5) student learning, as outlined in the teacher evaluation form.
The teacher will be responsible for managing a caseload of students across a variety of grade levels. Developing goals in collaboration with families, staff members, and students. Communication skills are an important part of this job, our teacher must be willing and effective at communicating the student goals, schedules, and expectations of paraprofessionals. Our teacher will be responsible for maintaining accurate records and completing the required paperwork on time and professionally.
