Part Time Nurse

Sutherland Public Schools is seeking a qualified and compassionate Part-Time School Nurse to serve our approximately 270 students. The school nurse plays a vital role in strengthening and facilitating the educational process by addressing students’ health-related barriers to learning and promoting a safe, healthy school environment.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with students, families, staff, and healthcare providers to support student wellness and academic success. This position promotes an optimal level of health and wellness for both students and staff while upholding professional nursing standards, the Nebraska Nurse Practice Act, and all state and local regulations governing school nursing practice.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred

• Certification: Nebraska Department of Education School Nurse Permit (Special Services) required or ability to obtain

• Experience: Nursing experience preferred

Responsibilities Include

• Assessing and addressing student health needs

• Managing student health records and medication administration

• Providing health education and wellness support

• Coordinating care with families, healthcare providers, and school personnel

• Supporting compliance with state and federal health regulations

• Promoting a healthy and safe learning environment for all students and staff
