FFA/AG Teacher

Sutherland Public School is currently accepting applications for our FFA/Ag Teacher/Sponsor position for the 2024-2025 school year. We are seeking a highly motivated, dynamic teacher with the desire to teach in a positive, student-centered and fun environment.   A successful candidate would be energetic, professional, and comfortable in an environment with high expectations for students and staff.  Coaching and Extra Duty assignments available but not required. 

Candidates must hold, or be able to obtain a Nebraska Department of Education Teacher Certification with proper endorsement in MS/HS Education. We will consider provisional-eligible endorsement of a well-qualified candidate. Sutherland is a progressive, growing district of nearly 320 students that boasts strong community support and excellent facilities.  

Duties include: Agricultural Science Teachers are responsible for ​conducting an instructional program that educates students about career pathways in agriculture, enhancing youth leadership and FFA, providing students with the knowledge and skills necessary to compete in a global economy, informing students about agriculture, initiating classroom discussions, creating lesson plans, overseeing agricultural experience programs, supervising and maintaining the school laboratory, preparing and submitting FFA rosters, entries, registrations, etc.
