1st Grade Teacher

Sumner-Eddyville-Miller Schools is seeking a passionate and dedicated 1st Grade Teacher to join our elementary team. The ideal candidate will create a positive, engaging classroom environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional growth of all students.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with state standards
• Teach foundational literacy and math skills using research-based strategies
• Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
• Assess student progress and use data to inform instruction
• Communicate regularly with families about student growth and classroom activities
• Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, and support staff
• Participate in professional development and school initiatives
