St. Paul Public School is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Skilled and Technical Science Instructor for the 2026-2027 school year. St. Paul (population approximately 2,400) is located 20 miles north of Grand Island. The district serves approximately 705 students K-12, with approximately 295 students in grades 7-12, housed in a connected facility with an on-site public library. St. Paul Wildcats compete at the Class C-1 level for NSAA activities/athletics and is a member of the LouPlatte Conference.
This position offers flexibility in course offerings based on teacher expertise and student interest. Current courses include Intro to STS, Welding, Small Engines, Construction, and Woods.
St. Paul Public Schools has a strong staff, supportive community and operates in a 1:1 technology environment with students utilizing chromebooks. The district maintains a student-to-teacher ratio of 13:1.

St. Paul Public School has a 2026-2027 base salary of $41,350. The position will have a 185-day contract commencing in mid-August 2026 with full paid Blue Cross Blue Shield family health insurance ($1,200 or $0 deductible)/paid single dental insurance (BCBS’s best dental policy option) along with vision insurance through National Insurance Services (VSP Choice Option 1) and long-term disability insurance. The district offers certificated staff members sick leave (15 days at full pay for first and second-year teachers; 10 days at full pay per year starting in year 3, accumulative to sixty days), emergency leave (up to 5 days), personal leave (2 days per year), and professional leave (2 days per year). Generally, up to 8 years of previous teaching experience are accepted on the salary schedule; additional years negotiable. First-year teachers may be placed at Step 3 (negotiable, determined by administration). The district provides tuition reimbursement up to $300 per year for graduate coursework (up to 9 graduate credit hours lifetime maximum).
The successful candidate must possess a Nebraska Teaching Certificate and have, or be able to attain, a Skilled and Technical Science endorsement as required by NDE.
