Due to retirement, Southwest Public Schools is looking for an energetic, student-focused leader to serve as Jr./Sr. High School Principal for grades 6–12 starting in the 2026–2027 school year. The district offers a competitive salary and full benefits package based on experience and qualifications.

The Jr./Sr. High School Principal leads the Jr./Sr. High School in Bartley, guiding teachers and staff to create a safe, welcoming, and challenging learning environment that helps all students succeed. In addition to leading the school, this person also manages district transportation, making sure all students and staff have safe and efficient bus services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide visionary instructional leadership aligned with district goals and community values.

  • Promote student achievement and staff growth through collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement practices.

  • Ensure compliance with Nebraska Department of Education (NDE) regulations and district policies.

  • Foster positive relationships with students, families, staff, and community partners.

  • Serve as a visible and engaged leader in both school and community events.

  • Oversee and coordinate district transportation operations, maintaining safety, efficiency, and compliance.

Additional Information

Southwest Public Schools will offer the 6–12 Principal a highly competitive starting salary based on experience and qualifications. This is a 210-day contract beginning on July 1 and continuing through May 31 each year. The position includes a comprehensive benefits package including full health and dental insurance coverage, a district-paid cell phone stipend, participation in the Nebraska Public Employees Retirement System (NPERS).
