K–12 Vocal Music / 5–12 Instrumental Band Director

2026–2027 School Year

Shelton Public Schools is seeking an enthusiastic, passionate, and student-centered music educator to lead our K–12 Vocal Music and 5–12 Instrumental Band Program beginning in the 2026–2027 school year.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to build upon a strong tradition of music education while inspiring students to develop their musical talents, confidence, creativity, and appreciation for the arts.

Position Responsibilities

  • Provide vocal music instruction for students in grades K–12.
  • Direct instrumental band programs for students in grades 5–12.
  • Plan and conduct concerts, performances, contests, and other music-related events.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student growth and participation.
  • Collaborate with staff, administration, families, and community members to promote student success.
  • Maintain and organize music equipment, instruments, and instructional materials.
  • Support and promote the district’s commitment to academic excellence and student achievement.

Qualifications

  • Valid Nebraska Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsement.
  • Strong instructional, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of varying ages and abilities.
  • Commitment to building positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
