Accompanist Part Time or Full Time

The collaborative pianist will accompany the three curricular choirs at SDA. The purpose of

the accompanist is to assist the teacher and students in the rehearsal and performance of choral music that represents multiple styles and genres. Specific duties include playing warm-ups, individual voice parts, combined choral parts, and accompaniment parts. Occasional directing responsibilities may include leading warm-ups and sectionals.

The prerequisites for this job are 1) an advanced level of pianistic ability, 2) the ability to follow a conductor in rehearsal/performance, and 3) sight-reading capabilities. While the most important aspect of this job is the everyday involvement in rehearsals, the accompanist is expected to accompany the choral concerts throughout the school year.
