EXPERIENCE MORE THAN A CLASSROOM
One advantage of student teaching in a small PK–12 district is the opportunity to see how the entire educational system works.
Student teachers can gain experience beyond daily classroom instruction by learning about areas such as professional collaboration, student services, special education, school improvement, extracurricular activities, parent communication, assessment, curriculum development, and school leadership.
We want our student teachers to leave Sargent understanding not only how to teach a class, but also how to become an effective member of a school community.
A DISTRICT MOVING FROM GREAT TO EXCELLENT
Sargent Public Schools is an exciting place to begin your professional journey. We are improving our facilities, expanding opportunities for students, strengthening academic programs, and investing in the future of our district.
Our students are at the center of that work.
We have great students, supportive families, dedicated teachers, and an administration and Board of Education that believe in giving educators the tools they need to succeed.
For a future teacher, that creates an outstanding environment in which to learn your profession.
BUILD YOUR PROFESSIONAL NETWORK
Student teaching is more than completing a college requirement—it is the beginning of your professional career.
At Sargent, we want student teachers to become part of our team. You will have opportunities to build relationships with teachers, administrators, students, families, and community members while developing experiences and references that can help you as you begin your teaching career.
And when future teaching opportunities become available at Sargent Public Schools, we want successful student teachers to already know what makes our district special.
