Middle School Counselor – Papillion Middle School – 2026-2027 School Year

Description: The Middle School Counselor provides comprehensive school counseling and guidance services to support students’ academic, social emotional, behavioral, and career development. Delivers individual and group counseling, assists students with goal setting, academic planning, course selection, scheduling, and personal growth. Collaborates with parents, teachers, administrators, and student services personnel to address student needs, monitor academic progress, and promote student success. Supports attendance initiatives, student interventions, referrals for specialized services, and communication regarding student concerns. Maintains confidentiality, ensures compliance with district policies and applicable regulations, and fosters a positive, supportive learning environment that helps all students reach their full potential.

Additionally, you will remain current in your field through ongoing professional growth and collaboration, communicate regularly with parents and staff, and contribute to building- and district-level meetings. Dependable attendance, supervisory responsibilities, and other assigned duties are also key components of this position.

Qualifications:

• Education: Master’s Degree in Guidance and Counseling or currently enrolled in and actively pursuing a master’s-level program in Guidance and Counseling.
• Certification: Holds or is eligible for a Nebraska Teacher’s Certificate
• Experience: At least 2 years teaching experience
