Jr.-Sr. High Principal

Position Title: Principal, Grades 7–12
Start Date: August 1, 2027

Position Overview

Oakland-Craig Public Schools is seeking a dynamic, student-centered educational leader to serve as  Principal for grades 7–12. The principal will provide strong instructional leadership, maintain a positive school culture, support staff development, and ensure effective school operations.

The ideal candidate is an experienced administrator with a commitment to academic excellence, relationship-building, and fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support high-quality teaching and learning across grades 7–12
• Monitor curriculum implementation, instructional practices, and student achievement data
• Support continuous school improvement initiatives
• Promote a culture of high expectations and academic rigor
• Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive school environment
• Build strong relationships with students, staff, families, and community stakeholders
• Support student discipline processes using restorative and equitable practices
• Promote student engagement, attendance, and extracurricular participation
• Supervise and evaluate certified and classified staff
• Provide coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities
• Collaborate with teacher leaders and department teams
• Oversee daily school operations and campus management
• Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal policies and regulations
• Manage school schedules, safety procedures, and crisis response protocols
• Collaborate with district leadership on budgeting and resource allocation

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership or related field
• Valid administrative certificate
• Experience leading grades 7–12 schools or secondary campuses preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of secondary education practices and systems
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
