North Platte Public Schools is searching for a Superintendent of Schools to begin July 1, 2027.

North Platte Public School District is dedicated to providing the highest quality education to each North Platte student from pre-K throughout grade 12. The district has 3,672 students enrolled. North Platte School District has developed a strategic plan that will guide and carry our district/school improvement work over the next 5 years.

North Platte is located along I-80 between Omaha and Denver. In the 2020 Census, North Platte population was 23,390. The community has many top attractions including the Golden Spike Tower and Visitor Center, Buffalo Bill Ranch and Cody Park, a Children’s Museum, and the North Platte Rec Center/Aquatic Facility. In addition, there are many opportunities for families and kids. These include bike paths, golf, pickleball, youth activities, fishing and lake activities. In addition, the community has service clubs, restaurants, boutiques, and all the amenities you may need.

NPPS is looking for someone to:

• Possess strong finance and school budget expertise, with a hands-on understanding of district operations, state aid, grants, and budgeting.

• Prioritize retaining and recruiting high-quality administrators and staff by fostering a supportive, collaborative environment.

• Improve district morale and rebuild trust among staff, administration, the Board, and community through accountability, proactive communication, and a visible leadership presence.

• Unify the district around the strategic plan, shared goals, and a clear vision while strengthening community and economic development partnerships.

• Emphasize student success while promoting educational opportunities, and positioning NPPS as a destination school district.
