Head and Assistant Boys Basketball Coach

Mead Public Schools is currently accepting applications for both a Head Boys Basketball Coach  and an Assistant Boys Basketball Coach for the 2024-25 school year.  These positions can be included with available teaching positions, but non-teaching candidates will be considered as well.  Candidates without a teaching certificate must hold, or be able to obtain, a Nebraska Department of Education or Special Services Certificate in the area of coaching.  The Head Coach is responsible for all aspects of the program and is expected to lead the basketball program in a manner that serves the student-athletes who participate and to represent the best interests of the school district.  The head coach is responsible for ensuring that all activities related to the program follow the rules and policies established by the district and the Nebraska School Activities Association.  The assistant coach will assist with the varsity program and direct the Junior Varsity program

Additional Information

Mead Public Schools typically competes in Class D-1, though we were C-2 in 23-24 and have been D-2 in the past.  The program has traditionally been very competitive, qualifying for the State Tournament five times in the last 10 years, including two State Finals.
