The Fairbury Public Schools Board of Education, Fairbury, Nebraska, is seeking a highly qualified Superintendent to lead the district and support its mission of ensuring success for all students.  

McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C., Executive Recruitment and Development are engaged as consultants in a search for outstanding candidates. They will assist the School Board in identifying and screening the candidates. 

Enrollment: 909 students 

Location: Fairbury, Nebraska – 69 miles SW of Lincoln  

 Salary: Regionally competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications 

The Qualifications

●       Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills, is an active listener, and fosters a collaborative, team-oriented environment that supports the success of all students, staff, and community members. 

●       Understands and addresses the diverse educational needs of the district while serving as an instructional leader with a strong background in school improvement, building leadership capacity at all levels to promote continuous growth and academic excellence. 

●       Community minded leader, demonstrating openness, integrity, and the ability to collaboratively work with all stakeholders to establish high expectations for students, staff, and families. 

●       Strong fiscal management and budgeting skills, with the ability to plan proactively for future district needs and work collaboratively with the Business Manager to ensure responsible and strategic financial stewardship.

 Search Timeline:  

• Closing date for applications: December 27, 2025
• School Board selects finalists to interview: January 7, 2026          
• Finalists’ Interviews with the School Board: January 14-15, 2026
• Selection of new Superintendent: February 9, 2026
