PreK/Preschool Teacher Assistant

Mary Our Queen School is seeking a qualified individual to support our growing early childhood education program.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Work cooperatively with the lead teacher to implement lessons and activities

• Effectively observes assigned work hours – maintaining a pattern of prompt and regular attendance

• Guide and direct work of students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning

• Assist teacher in implementing classroom procedures and routines

• Ensure students follow school and class rules

• Effectively able to supervise and support students in the classroom, collaboration area, lunchroom, and during recess

• Assist teacher in preparing necessary materials for lessons

• Maintains a cooperative working relationship with Principal, lead classroom teacher, staff, and public

• Demonstrates ethical behavior and confidentiality

• Performs other duties as assigned by Principal or lead teacher

• Communicates clearly and positively with students and all stakeholders.

Education and Experience

• High school degree or equivalent; Associate degree in education or a related field preferred.
• Experience as a paraprofessional, teaching assistant, or similar position preferred.
• Experience working with preschool or elementary-aged students.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
