Transistional Kindergarten (TK) Teacher

Mary Our Queen, a PreK-8, Catholic School, seeks a qualified TK teacher to prepare young children for PreK/Kindergarten.  We are currently accepting applications for a full-time TK Teacher. 

Applicants must have a great love and patience for children as well as a strong knowledge of child development, preschool curriculum, and the ability to personalize learning with strong lesson planning and use of a variety of instructional strategies. Additionally, we are seeking a teacher with excellent communication skills and a willingness to collaborate with the Early Childhood education team.

Responsibilities

• Assist children in developing a relationship with God through prayer and classroom activities

• Create a classroom culture and routine that supports the development of children’s social-emotional skills and classroom readiness skills. 

• Effectively collaborate with the team of preschool teachers to determine current best practices and facilitate curriculum implementation.

• Use assessment data to adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of children as well as individual students’ needs

• Create weekly lessons that effectively meet preschool learning standards and objectives established by the Archdiocese of Omaha

• Establish and maintain effective classroom management practices 

• Effectively communicate with parents about student progress

• Develop and maintain positive relationships with children, parents and staff

• Actively participate in professional development opportunities and MOQ School Continuous Improvement plan 

Education and Experience

• BS in Elementary or Early Childhood Education 

• Associate degree or Endorsement in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred

• Experience working with preschool or elementary-aged students

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Proficient with technology

• Practicing Catholic preferred
