Johnson-Brock Public Schools is accepting applications for a Food Service Manager/Head Cook position due to a well-earned retirement. We are seeking a well-qualified, dependable, and student-focused individual to lead our school nutrition program and continue providing high-quality meals for our students and staff.

Position Overview

The Food Service Manager/Head Cook is responsible for planning, preparing, and serving nutritious meals in compliance with Nebraska Department of Education (NDE) and USDA school nutrition guidelines. This position provides leadership within the kitchen and plays a key role in maintaining a positive, safe, and efficient food service environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in school food service or commercial food preparation preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and nutrition guidelines
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and the public
  • Dependable, flexible, and committed to serving students

Training and certification opportunities may be available for the right candidate.

Additional Information

  • Salary based on experience and range from $17.25-$20.00 per hour and includes single Blue Cross Blue Shield Health Insurance.  Starting date various depending on necessary training needed.  School starting date would be August 18th.
