Maternity Leave Sub (Fall 2025)

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Holy Name Catholic School is seeking a caring, dedicated, and collaborative Long-Term Substitute Teacher for 4th grade to cover a maternity leave. The position will involve teaching all core subjects in a faith-based environment that supports the whole child—academically, socially, and spiritually.

Responsibilities:
Deliver instruction aligned with existing lesson plans and pacing guides
Foster a supportive and respectful classroom culture
Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff
Participate in school activities and duties as appropriate

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Qualifications:
Valid Nebraska teaching certificate (or eligible for substitute permit)
Classroom teaching experience preferred, especially at the elementary level
Commitment to creating a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment
Willingness to uphold and model Catholic values in the classroom

Education and Experience
A valid Nebraska Teaching Certificate or Provisional Nebraska Teaching Certificate or a Transitional Teaching Certificate or a Local Substitute Certificate

Applicant must complete a background check and the Archdiocese of Omaha required Safe Environment training.
