7-12 Special Education Teacher Signing Bonus $6,000.00
Hitchcock County Junior and Senior High School in Trenton Nebraska is accepting applications for a 7 – 12 Special Education Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. We seek a qualified, hardworking educator to be part of a team committed to the student. Hitchcock County is a Class D-2 school with a total 7-12 enrollment of 115 students for the 2023-2024 school year.
The successful candidate must hold a valid State of Nebraska Teaching Certificate in the area of special education. Hitchcock County Schools is a progressive school district in Southwest Nebraska. We offer an outstanding academic program with a wide variety of curricular and extracurricular offerings. Coaching and extra-duty positions are available but not required.
Start date is on or about August 9th, 2024. Hitchcock County Schools offers a competitive salary and benefit package that is commensurate with experience. The base salary is currently $37,600 for the 2023-2024 school year. The district provides full family Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurance with Type C dental, ten sick leave days, two professional days and three personal leave.
SIGNING BONUS: The school board agrees to pay a one time bonus of $6000.00 The hiring bonus is done as a single payment separate from the first entitled payroll. The hiring bonus does not become a part of the employees index for placement on the salary schedule. If, within three years of receiving such incentive pay, a teacher terminates his or her employment with the District for any reason other than termination of the teacher’s contract due to reduction in force, the teacher shall at once become liable to reimburse the District for such incentive pay as follows:
(a) If the teacher completes less than one full year of the three-year obligation, the
teacher shall fully reimburse the District for all incentive monies paid to the teacher.
(b) If the teacher completes one full year but less than two full years of the three
year obligation, the teacher shall fully reimburse the District in an amount
equal to two-thirds of the incentive monies paid to the teacher.
(c) If the teacher completes two full years, but less than three full years of the
three-year obligation, the teacher shall reimburse the District in an amount equal to
one-third of the incentive monies paid to the teacher.
(d) The amount of the bonus may in such a case be set off from the new employee’s final pay.
