Hitchcock County School District is located in Southwest Nebraska just West of McCook near Swanson Reservoir in the communities of Culbertson and Trenton. The two former districts of Culbertson and Trenton merged in June of 2008 to form Hitchcock County School. The central offices and the secondary school are located in Trenton and the elementary school is located in Culbertson.
Hitchcock County Schools are accredited by the Nebraska Department of Education and received an AQuESTT rating of Excellent for the 2024-2025 school year. In 2011 Hitchcock County Jr/Sr High School was named a U.S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon school for academic excellence.

Start date is August 1, 2026 with a contract of 210 days of service. Hitchcock County Schools offers a competitive salary and benefit package that is commensurate with experience.
