Special Education Paraeducators 2026-2027

Fairbury Public Schools is seeking dedicated, compassionate Special Education Paraeducators to support students with diverse learning needs. This role operates across various district buildings, assisting students individually or in small groups under the direction of a certified Special Education teacher.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide instructional and behavioral support to students with disabilities.
• Assist with the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Help maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
• Monitor and document student progress and behavior data.
• Assist students with physical, emotional, or personal care needs as required.

Qualifications

• Required: Successful completion of a background check.
• Required: Flexibility to work in different school buildings.
• Preferred: Prior experience working with children, especially those with special needs.
• Preferred: Comfort with computer and application use for data tracking and communication.
• Preferred: Strong patience, communication, and collaboration skills.
