CERTIFIED–Substitute Teachers 2026-2027

Fairbury Public Schools is seeking dedicated, adaptable Substitute Teachers to support student learning for the 2026-2027 school year. This role operates on an as-needed basis across various district buildings, including elementary, middle, and high school classrooms.

Responsibilities

Maintain a positive, safe classroom learning environment.

Follow lesson plans left by the permanent teacher.

Manage classroom behavior effectively.

Ensure student safety and supervision.

Report daily progress to the classroom teacher.

Qualifications

Required: Valid Nebraska Educator Certificate (Standard, Professional, or Substitute).

Required: Successful completion of a background check.

Required: Flexibility to work in different school buildings and do additional duties, as requested by the principal.

Preferred: Prior experience working with children.

Preferred: Comfort with computer and application use.

Preferred: Strong communication and instructional skills.

We offer competitive pay with the option of a full day or half day. Times will vary based on the building schedule.
