Education Level: Master’s Degree

Certification/Licensure: Nebraska Teaching Certificate (required), DHHS Licensure (required), ASHA Certification (CCC-SLP) (preferred)

Essential Functions of Position:

  1. Plan and implement programs for children birth-21 in appropriate settings (natural environments, classroom, small group and individual).
  2. Possess knowledge of human development, interventions, and of Rule 51 and Rule 52.
  3. Serve as an active member of the MDT, IFSP, and IEP processes.
  4. Conduct language assessments (articulation, language, fluency, voice) with children birth-21 years of age.
  5. Provide case management duties for infants, toddlers, or students under Rule 51 or Rule 52.
  6. Facilitate interventions that reduce, remediate or eliminate speech and language impairments that interfere with the students’ ability to benefit from the district’s educational program.
  7. Support the Multi-tiered System of Supports (MTSS) process (pre-referral interventions) through consultation, provision of strategies and materials to parents, teachers, support staff and administrators.
  8. Stay abreast of and implement best practices and evidence based instructional strategies.
  9. Complete all the required paperwork and reports from ESU 10, school districts served and the Nebraska Department of Education).
  10. Develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with others.
  11. Willing to travel.
  12. Regular and dependable attendance is an essential function of this position.
  13. Other duties as assigned.
