District Nurse

Elmwood-Murdock Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team.  In this role, you will provide health services and support to students and staff at both our elementary school in Elmwood and our JH/HS in Murdock.

This position can be adaptable to meet the needs of the successful candidate.  This position can be a 1/2 time position (.5 FTE), up to a 4/5 position (.8 FTE).

Key Responsibilities

• Medication Administration: Safely dispense prescribed medications according to district policies and state regulations.  Provide training to staff who assist with medication administration.
• Provide Direct Care: Administer first aid, emergency care, and routine medical treatments to students and staff.
• Health Management: Manage student health records, document clinic visits, care for students with chronic health conditions, etc.  Managing NSAA activity student documents.
• District Mobility: Ability to travel between the elementary school in Elmwood and the JH/HS in Murdock, as needed.
• Safety: Ensure a safe, sanitary, and healthy environment within the school health offices.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Must hold a valid, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Nebraska.
• Valid CPR / AED and First Aid certifications are required.
• Strong clinical judgement, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently with students, staff and parents.
• Ability to assist with general office duties as needed.
• Successful completion of a comprehensive district background check.
