2026/2027 Music Instructor ~ Design your role!

Are you a passionate music educator dedicated to fostering creativity, discipline, and a lifelong love of music? Centura Public Schools is seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative Music Educator to join our team for the 2026/2027 school year.

Due to an unexpected medical retirement, we are currently seeking candidates for one of two focus areas. Whether your passion lies in building the foundation with young learners or refining the artistry of older students, we invite you to help shape the musical culture of our district.

We are currently accepting applications for candidates specializing in either of the following roles:

Instrumental Music Educator (5-12)

Focus on technical mastery, ensemble performance, and artistic growth.

  • Curriculum: Direct the JH/HS concert band program, including pep band, marching band and other instrumental ensembles.
  • Performance: Coordinate concert schedules, contest preparations, and community performances.
  • Goal: To challenge and inspire secondary students through advanced ensemble work, technical instruction, and diverse repertoire.

OR

Elementary Music Educator

Focus on fostering a love for music in our youngest learners.

  • Curriculum: Lead general music classes for elementary students, focusing on vocal development, rhythm, movement, and music theory basics.
  • Performance: Direct elementary-level seasonal programs and school events.
  • Goal: To instill confidence and a strong musical foundation that prepares students for secondary-level participation.

What We Are Looking For

  • Certification: Valid Nebraska Teaching Certificate with the appropriate K-12 Music endorsement or willing to obtain. Student teachers are encouraged to apply.
  • Expertise: Deep knowledge of your chosen specialty (either vocal/general pedagogy or secondary instrumental techniques).
  • Passion: A commitment to building an inclusive, high-energy environment where all students can succeed.
  • Collaboration: A desire to work closely with district staff to ensure a seamless and robust K-12 music experience.
