Physical Therapist

ESU #2 is currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapist to join our team and provide vital support to students with a variety of physical needs. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and helping them achieve their highest potential in both the classroom and in life.

Job Description:
As a School Physical Therapist at ESU #2, you will assess, treat, and develop individualized plans to address students’ physical challenges. You will collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and parents to help students improve mobility, enhance physical function, and promote independence. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of children by supporting their physical well-being in a school setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct physical assessments to evaluate students’ physical abilities and limitations.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for students with physical disabilities or injuries.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students, including exercises, stretches, and mobility assistance.
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education teams, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective treatment and accommodations.
  • Educate students, teachers, and families about physical therapy goals and techniques.
  • Maintain accurate records of assessments, treatment plans, and student progress.
  • Adapt therapy sessions and approaches to meet the specific needs of individual students.
  • Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Plan) meetings and contribute to the development of student goals.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students during therapy sessions.
  • Stay current with developments in physical therapy and best practices for children in educational settings.
