Part time Director of Teacher Education Initiatives

The Director of Teacher Education Initiatives works directly with the Director of Early Childhood Education, Associate Dean, Teacher Education adjuncts, CCC departments, and external partners to promote, organize, and implement Teacher Education initiatives on behalf of CCC throughout the 25-county service area. The director will hold a master’s degree in Education and have at least 5 years of experience in K-12 settings. Will perform duties and responsibilities following college policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned. This is a year-round, part-time position, up to 28 hours a week.

Additional Information

  • Coordinates Teacher Education initiatives across the college and service area according to college policies and procedures.
  • Participates in and maintains relationships with community colleges and partner agencies (Nebraska Department of Education; Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services; school districts etc.) to plan and implement initiatives (e.g., Paraeducator Certificate, MANDT training, teacher pathways).
  • Provides MANDT training for students enrolled in practicum courses. Maintains MANDT trainer status.
  • Collaborates with a team of educators including the Director of Early Childhood Education; the Associate Dean and Dean of Arts, Sciences and Business; and others to investigate and implement opportunities for future educators to enter the teaching profession.
  • Collaborates with adjunct instructors and others to update and maintain teacher education curriculum, practicum guidance, and other academic guidance.
