Position:
Maxwell Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and passionate 7-12 Social Studies Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. This position will serve students in grades 7-12, delivering high-quality instruction in social studies while fostering a positive and engaging learning environment.

  • Located on the I-80 corridor, just 12 miles east of North Platte, Nebraska.
  • Enrollment of approximately 275 students in grades K-12.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging social studies lessons aligned with Nebraska state standards.
  • Teach a variety of social studies subjects to students in grades 7-12, potentially including history, geography, government, and economics.
  • Foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and a love for learning among students.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to help all learners succeed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create interdisciplinary learning opportunities and contribute to a positive school culture.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in education.

Qualifications:

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in education with an endorsement in Social Studies or a related field.
  • Preferred: Nebraska teaching certificate or ability to obtain certification by the start of the school year.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment for all students.
