Job Opening: 7-12 Social Studies Teacher
Maxwell Public Schools, Maxwell, Nebraska
Position:
Maxwell Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and passionate 7-12 Social Studies Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. This position will serve students in grades 7-12, delivering high-quality instruction in social studies while fostering a positive and engaging learning environment.
About Maxwell Public Schools:
- Located on the I-80 corridor, just 12 miles east of North Platte, Nebraska.
- Enrollment of approximately 275 students in grades K-12.
- Known for small class sizes that allow for individualized attention and student success.

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging social studies lessons aligned with Nebraska state standards.
- Teach a variety of social studies subjects to students in grades 7-12, potentially including history, geography, government, and economics.
- Foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and a love for learning among students.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to help all learners succeed.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create interdisciplinary learning opportunities and contribute to a positive school culture.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in education.
Qualifications:
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in education with an endorsement in Social Studies or a related field.
- Preferred: Nebraska teaching certificate or ability to obtain certification by the start of the school year.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment for all students.
