Elementary 2 Lead Montessori Teacher (grades 4-6)

Overview

Bluestem Montessori School is seeking an excellent teacher to take over leading a beautiful class of 9-12 year olds (grades 4-6)! The ideal teacher will be experienced with older elementary children and a range of neurodiversities found in most classrooms, ready to guide children on their leadership journeys, prepared for early-pubescent highs and lows, and excited to hold kids to their personal best standards as they grow.

If you are already a Montessori credentialed upper elementary teacher, this position could start in August 2026. For experienced teachers who are not Montessori credentialed, you will start your journey with Bluestem as our Upper Elementary Assistant Teacher while our current lead teacher helps you learn the ropes of a Montessori classroom and you familiarize yourself with Montessori lessons. Bluestem will subsidize Montessori training starting in Fall 2026 and you would take over as Lead Teacher in August 2027.

Required Qualifications

  • Nebraska teaching license or Montessori credential (AMS preferred)
  • Experience teaching 4th, 5th, and/or 6th grade
  • interest in and familiarity with Montessori philosophy
