District Behavior Coordinator
Beatrice Public Schools is seeking a Behavior Coordinator to join our district in the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will have certification in Special Education K-12 with an emphasis on Behavior Disorders. Supervisory experience is preferred but not required.
Job Description:
The Behavior Coordinator will play a vital role in promoting positive behavior and creating a safe and supportive school climate. This individual will work collaboratively with students, staff, and families to develop and implement behavior management strategies, interventions, and programs that enhance student well-being and academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
– Monitor and assist with school-wide behavior management policies and programs.
– Collaborate with teachers and staff to identify students in need of behavioral support and provide appropriate interventions.
– Facilitate training and workshops for staff on effective behavior management strategies and best practices.
– Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed to ensure success.
– Collect and analyze data related to student behavior and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
– Serve as a resource for crisis intervention and conflict resolution within the school community.
– Serve as district rep at IEP and parent meetings.
– Train staff in the Mandt System. (requires a 4 day training off-site to become a trainer)
– Support students/staff participating in Skills Based Treatment. (requires training)
– Provide in classroom supports and modeling as needed.
– Assist with writing behavior plans, conducting functional behavior assessments, manifestation determination reviews, and reviewing IEP paperwork. for IDEA/Rule 51 compliance.
– Misc. responsibilities related to day to day student activities/services.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in education with a minimum of an endorsement in special education. (Master’s degree preferred).
– Experience supporting students with behavioral challenges.
– Strong understanding of behavioral management techniques and social-emotional learning.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and families.
– Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when necessary.
– Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
– Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines regarding student behavior and mental health.

– 196 day contract. (10 additional days)
– Reports to the Director of Special Education.
– Training in Mandt and BPS behavior programming are required. Additional trainings may be needed.
