Secondary Special Education Teacher – Secondary, Part Time

Contracted Secondary Special Education Teacher– Archdiocese of Omaha, Part-time

Education and Experience:

·         Must hold a valid 9-12 special education license in the state of Nebraska

·         Minimum of 3 years’ experience

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Develop and implement annual individualized Education Plans (IEP) for students

·         Schedule IEP meetings with team members

·         Collect data for on-going progress

·         Apply research-based learning strategies and interventions to support student’s IEP and progress

·         Collaborate and consult with general education teachers, administrators, and parents to support student learning outcomes

·         Manage a safe and effective learning environment

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

·         Strong knowledge base to deliver individualized instruction and educational services

·         Understanding of the processes and procedures of providing SLP services

·         Ability to effectively analyze student needs and problem solve

·         Ability to establish and maintain positive rapport with students, parents, teachers and administration

·         Work collaboratively with teams as well as take initiative
