Career Specialist: JAG – Jobs for America’s Graduates

The JAG Career Specialist will implement the Jobs for America’s Graduates program at Wood River Rural Middle/High School, focusing on supporting students in their academic and career development. This position involves providing guidance, mentorship, and life skills training to help students succeed in school and transition into post-graduate opportunities, including higher education and employment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver curriculum aligned with JAG objectives, enhancing students’ leadership, teamwork, and employability skills.

  • Provide one-on-one mentoring and counseling to students, helping them set achievable academic and career goals.

  • Facilitate workshops and activities that promote personal growth, community involvement, and job readiness.

  • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and community partners to create a supportive learning environment.

  • Monitor student progress and participate in evaluation processes to assess program effectiveness.

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, or a related field.

  • Experience working with youth, especially in educational or mentorship roles.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Passion for helping students achieve their potential.
