Life Skills/Special Education Instructors

Winside Public School is accepting applications for Life Skills/Special Education Instructors for the 2025-2026 school year. This is a unique position. Please see the position information below. Winside is a progressive and growing district with a one-to-one Chromebook initiative for students 7-12 and well-maintained facilities. Winside Public School is located in beautiful Northeast Nebraska, 2 hours from Omaha and Lincoln, 60 minutes from Sioux City, and 20 minutes from Norfolk. The Winside area provides numerous hunting, fishing, and recreational opportunities. Coaching positions and sponsorships are also available with this position.

 

Position Information: Instruct students with significant cognitive and pervasive developmental disabilities. These students’ needs require a functional curriculum focused on acquiring daily living and vocational skills, leading to a successful transition to adult life within the community. The instruction will focus on practical academics, communication, community, domestic, leisure/recreation, and vocational skills utilizing an approved curriculum. These programs emphasize communication, maximum independence, opportunities to generalize skills in natural settings, and participation in general education activities with peers.

Additional Information

The base salary for the 2024-25 school year will be $39,750, which includes full BC/BS insurance, Single Dental, and Long-Term Disability. Winside Public Schools does accept all years of experience.
