Life Skills/Special Education Instructors

Winside Public School is located in beautiful Northeast Nebraska, 2 hours from Omaha and Lincoln, 60 minutes from Sioux City, and 20 minutes from Norfolk. The Winside area provides numerous hunting, fishing, and recreational opportunities. Coaching positions and sponsorships are also available with this position.

Position Information: Instruct students with significant cognitive and pervasive developmental disabilities. These students’ needs require a functional curriculum focused on acquiring daily living and vocational skills, leading to a successful transition to adult life within the community. The instruction will focus on practical academics, communication, community, domestic, leisure/recreation, and vocational skills utilizing an approved curriculum. These programs emphasize communication, maximum independence, opportunities to generalize skills in natural settings, and participation in general education activities with peers.
