Elementary Principal

Winnebago Public Schools is seeking an Elementary Principal to meet the needs of our district for the 2025-2026 school year. Candidates must have or be able to secure proper NDE certification.

Winnebago Public Schools is located on the Winnebago Indian Reservation in northeast Nebraska, 25 miles south of Sioux City, Iowa and 70 miles north of Omaha, Nebraska on Highway 77. The facilities have been built and renovated to provide a safe and accessible 21stcentury learning environment.

Essential Functions:

• Participation in the development and implementation of districtwide policies and programs.
• Provide leadership and structure for meeting the day-to-dayoperating needs of the building.
• Provide leadership in establishing and enforcing regulations for teacher and student behavior in coordination with the Dean of Students.
• Delegates responsibility for a variety of administrative functions to other personnel for the purpose of managing the workload more efficiently.
• Advocates for the students, staff, school, district and public education (e.g. responsive to parents and community, creates a welcoming climate and culture, markets school programs, promotes and emphasizes support for parental involvement) for the purpose of encouraging and promoting community involvement and outreach.
• Evaluates assigned personnel for the purpose of ensuring that standards are achieved, compliance with job descriptions is obtained, and performance is maximized.
• Facilitates communication (oral and written) between personnel, students and/or parents for the purpose of evaluating situations, solving problems and/or resolving conflicts.
• Implements policies, procedures and/or processes for the purpose of providing direction and/or complying with mandated requirements.
• Other duties as required.
