Math Readiness Coordinator
Western Nebraska Community College is currently accepting applications for the position of Math Readiness Coordinator.
Responsibilities: This is a 12-month position working with partner school districts to help prepare students while in high school for college-level math coursework. Work with WNCC departments and external partners to provide support in the Nebraska Math Readiness Project (NMRP) promotion and organization throughout the designated service area, including the recruitment of new partners. Special focus will be on the direct support of high school math instructors and counselors to ensure the success of the program. Assist in maintaining consistent policies and procedures for WNCC college programming, including dual credit and concurrent enrollment. Provide and/or coordinate instruction for students, staff, and other professionals; organize and/or teach courses, community and continuing education seminars, and student cooperative education/internship opportunities. Travel as required. Usually, day trips but may occasionally involve overnight stays.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or in Education with an emphasis in Mathematics. Ability to use appropriate software as necessary, i.e., Pearson’s MyLabMath, Blackboard, Microsoft Office for various software applications. Experience teaching secondary mathematics (7-12) preferred. Must hold, or be able to hold, Nebraska teaching certification in 7-12 mathematics. Possession of, or the ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record that does not exclude the driver from coverage under WNCC’s vehicle insurance is required.
Salary: Starts at $20.12 per hour, depending on experience.
