Library Media Specialist (26-27 school year)

Walthill Public School is seeking a passionate and innovative K–12 Library Media Specialist to join our team!

As we prepare to open a brand-new, state-of-the-art campus in Fall 2028, this is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of our library media program. The ideal candidate will inspire a love of reading, promote digital literacy, collaborate closely with teachers, and support students from early childhood through high school in becoming skilled, lifelong learners.

Primary Responsibilities

• Curate and manage a balanced collection of print, digital, and multimedia resources.

• Collaborate with classroom teachers to design engaging, standards-aligned lessons that integrate research, literacy, and technology skills.

• Provide direct instruction in library and information literacy to students K–12.

• Promote a love of reading through events, book talks, and student-led initiatives.

• Support technology integration and digital citizenship throughout the school.

• Prepare for and contribute to the design and transition into the new library media center opening in 2028.

• Manage library systems, budgets, and inventory.

• Foster a welcoming, inclusive space that reflects Walthill’s community and cultural heritage.
