Opportunity for Professional Growth – Receive Training through WORDS Project!

As a new 2nd or 4th grade teacher at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School, you will participate in the WORDS Project. The WORDS Project is a 2-year literacy training provided through UNL. This professional development and 1-on-1 coaching to use evidence-based reading instruction, meets the Nebraska legislature’s requirement that all teachers of 4-year-olds through 3rd graders be adequately trained to effectively instruct students in reading.

Position Overview
Due to retirements, we are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic second grade and fourth grade elementary school teachers to join our faculty. The ideal candidates are committed to academic excellence, faith formation, and creating positive, nurturing classroom environments aligned with Catholic values.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with curriculum standards
• Integrate Catholic teachings, values, and prayer into daily instruction and classroom life
• Foster a safe, respectful learning environment
• Assess and monitor student progress and communicate effectively with parents/guardians
• Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and support staff
• Participate in school liturgies, meetings, professional development, and community events
• Second grade teacher will prepare students for First Communion

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education
• Valid state teaching certification (or eligibility to obtain)
• Practicing Catholic preferred (or willingness to support and uphold the mission of the Catholic Church)
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Passion for working with children and supporting their academic and spiritual growth
