First Grade Teacher

Saint Rose School is a Catholic school in Northeast Nebraska. We are seeking a first grade classroom teacher for the 2026-27 school year. This is a self-contained classroom. Our class size average is 10 students. The ideal candidate will foster a positive learning environment, encourage student engagement and academic growth while supporting students socially-emotionally and spiritually. This role involves planning and implementing lessons aligned with curriculum standards, assessing student progress, and adapting teaching methods to meet students’ diverse needs.

Duties 
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans in all academic areas. 
• Assess student performance through standardized testing and provide feedback to students and parents. 
• Support students with special educational needs by adapting lessons and providing individualized instruction. 
• Collaborate with education administration to align teaching practices with school goals.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a safe and respectful learning environment. 
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Experience in lesson planning and classroom management is highly desirable. 
• Knowledge of literacy education, math instruction, special education strategies, and education administration is a plus. 
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues. 
• A commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment that meets the needs of all learners.

Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or be able to obtain a valid Nebraska teaching certificate with the appropriate endorsement.
