Elementary School Counselor

St. Joseph Catholic School & North American Martyrs Catholic School are seeking a faith-filled, compassionate, dedicated school counselor to share time between both schools; 3 days a week at St. Joseph and 2 days a week at North American Martyrs.  The position will primarily serve the social/emotional needs of PreK-8 students, integrating the values of faith and psychology based on a healthy human anthropology.  Must be skilled in communication with all ages, both children and adults, with a strong ability to collaborate with teachers and parents.  Confidentiality and personal integrity are essential.

 The ideal candidate will do the following:

  • Maintain high professional standards consistent with the missions of North American Martyrs and St. Joseph Schools
  • Adhere to ethical and legal standards in school counseling, reflective of Christian anthropology
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to address the needs of students and the school community
  • Provide guidance and support to students with academic, social, emotional, or behavioral issues
  • Assist students with goal setting
  • Show awareness and sensitivity to unique student needs and be able to proactively plan and apply effective teaching strategies for each student’s success.
  • Be a strong team member committed to collaboration, building strong relationships, and content integration

Qualifications

  • Masters in School Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
  • State School Counseling Certification
  • Experience working in a school setting and counseling students
  • Knowledge of various counseling models, practices, and resources
  • Strong communication skills and high emotional intelligence
  • Experience with conflict resolution and crisis management

Additional Information

Position begins August 2025.  Salary based on educational level and experience.
