Full-time or part-time elementary school music and band teacher

Reports directly to principal

 There is potential for extra duty pay assisting with tech liaison duties

 St. John the Baptist School is seeking qualified applicants for a full or part-time music and band teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The teacher will work daily in a Catholic faith-filled teaching environment focused on the development of the whole student — intellectually, spiritually, physically, emotionally and socially.

 Job Functions: 

• Teach preK-8 general music and band.
• Prepare motivating and stimulating lessons that reflect knowledge of the curriculum, instructional strategies, and student abilities.
• Accompany and/or cantor at daily Mass.
• Prepare two music programs per semester.
• Employ a variety of teaching models to engage different learning styles and ability levels.
• Update curriculum and materials as needed.

Qualifications:

• Elementary education certification
• Possess a Nebraska teaching certificate
• Practicing Catholic preferred
• Complete safe environment training and background check
