Preventative Support Interventionist (PSI)

The Trojan Academic Center (TAC) is a non-traditional 21st century classroom that provides engaging academic interventions for our students who are in need of credit recovery, instructional support, and a personalized learning plan.  

The Preventative Support Interventionist (PSI) will provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help students recover credit towards high school graduation. Support students with emotional, physical, college and career readiness, and social growth skills will be a key foundation of the depth of instruction. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society. The teacher will be working with At-risk and Credit-Recovery students.

Education/Certification:

Bachelor’s degree from accredited university

Valid Nebraska teaching certificate; prefer certification in ELA or Math

Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area

  • Takes initiative to build a successful program

  • Knowledge of core academic subjects assigned

  • Develop strong relationships with students

  • General knowledge of curriculum and instruction

  • Ability to use data to drive instruction

  • Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior

  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Monitor and encourage individual student progress

  • Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress

  • Update records accurately and completely as required by district policies.

  • Prepare required reports on students and activities and share with team

  • Manage student behavior and maintain discipline by establishing classroom rules and procedures and enforcing classroom, school, and district rules and procedures.

  • Participate in department, school, and district meetings and professional development activities as appropriate.

  • Stay current with most recent developments in appropriate subject areal as initiated by the school or district.

Salary per Negotiated Agreement.  Start date – January 7, 2019.
