Elementary SPED
Southwest Public Schools is seeking applicants for a full-time K–6 Special Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year at our elementary school in Indianola, Nebraska, located 12 miles east of McCook. Our elementary school offers a 1:1 device environment, with iPads for students in grades K–2 and Chromebooks for students in grades 3–5. Candidates with all related endorsements and levels of experience are encouraged to apply. We offer small class sizes and a supportive, close-knit school community.

Southwest Public Schools in Indianola, Nebraska offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience. The base salary for the 2026–2027 school year is $40,725. All teachers with fewer than three years of experience will begin on Step 3 of the salary schedule and will remain on Step 3 until they have four years of experience. The district also provides a comprehensive benefits package, including district-paid full family health insurance, retirement benefits through the Nebraska Public Employees Retirement System, and paid leave.
