- FLSA Status: Professional exemption: The employee has a primary duty of performing work requiring knowledge of an advanced type in a field of science or learning customarily acquired by a prolonged course of specialized intellectual instruction and study or has a primary duty of teaching, tutoring, instructing, or lecturing in the activity of imparting knowledge and is employed and engaged in this activity as a teacher.
- Education Level and Certification: A bachelor’s degree or higher is required. Must possess a Nebraska Teaching Certificate at all times during employment with such endorsements as required by NDE Rule 10.
- Reports To: Building Principal
- May Receive Guidance From: Building Principal
- Essential Job Functions:
General teaching and instructional skills
Basic operational skills for Macintosh or PC computer
Poised
Supervise a variety of tasks at the same time
No history of child abuse or negligence
Good oral and written skills
- Working Conditions:
- Inside classroom
- Outside for activities with students and student supervision
- Job Tasks:
- Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those objectives to students.
- Instruct through lectures, discussions, and demonstrations in one or more subjects such as English, mathematics, or social studies.
- Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments to evaluate students’ progress.
- Assign and grade class work and homework.
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs and interests.

Superior Public Schools offers a competitive salary on a 4×5 salary schedule with a base salary of $38,800 with an excellent fringe benefit package. This position is for 6-12 Art for the 2024-2025 school year.
