High School Assistant Principal
The South Sioux City Community School District is currently accepting applications for a High School Assistant Principal, for the 2021/2022 school year.
The successful candidate will have experience in building a collaborative culture, establishing/maintaining high expectations for students and staff by serving as an instructional leader, the ability to establish and foster strong relationships, and the capacity to build professional learning communities.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to providing leadership assistance in planning, developing, coordinating and evaluating the operations of the school; working with building administration in establishing annual objectives for instructional and extra-curricular programs, supervising District athletics/activities by attending events, monitoring student behavior, providing officials with essential information, collaborating with stakeholders in the execution of objectives and initiatives, and maintaining effective programs to strengthen and monitor pupil discipline, attendance, and individual progress.
This position requires working cooperatively as part of a team, communicating openly and effectively with students, community, staff, and administration, and assisting with the development of an atmosphere of respect, interest, and enthusiasm within the school. Established leadership experience in managing student behaviors and attendance issues, utilizing data to drive continuous improvement initiatives, is also preferred.
Selected candidate must hold or be eligible to obtain a Nebraska Administrative Certification with Secondary endorsement. This administrative position requires District residency.
This position offers a 260 day contract period. Anticipated start date is July 1, 2021.
