Assistant Superintendent

The South Sioux City Community School District is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Superintendent.

The Assistant Superintendent is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating PK-12 education programs for the entire school system.   Responsibilities include oversight of academic programs throughout the district (in coordination with directors and building principals), school improvement/program development initiatives, administration of federal programs, and duties as assigned by the superintendent.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold or qualify for a Nebraska Administrative/Supervisory Certificate with a superintendent endorsement,
  • Doctoral Degree in Educational Administration is preferred; an Educational Specialist degree is required.
  • Minimum of three years administrative experience in instructional improvement, staff and program development, and educational leadership.  Previous supervisory experience is also required,
  • Selected candidate will be required to reside in the District.

The successful candidate will have a strong background related to the position, possess excellent oral/written communication skills and be adept at integrating technology into the learning environment. Anticipated start date is to be determined.
