Early Childhood Special Education, Center Based

The Early Childhood Special Education: Center-Based Teacher serves as the case manager for children with disabilities ages 3-5 in the inclusive preschool classrooms in LPS.  Must demonstrate the ability and skills necessary for successful collaboration and planning with early childhood staff and other early childhood service providers to implement programming and services to meet the needs of children with disabilities.

Responsible for the development and implementation of IEPs and IFSP and other related special education paperwork in the school setting.  Assists with collecting GOLD data, provide input, and collaborates with families on home visits and other regular and ongoing communication.

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.  The position may require travel to various LPS buildings as part of the assignment for this itinerant position.  A driver’s license and dependable transportation are required. The work may require additional days in the summer, in addition to the teacher contract, to provide the necessary special education services.

Additional Information

Beginning salary is $47,000 with a BA and no prior experience.  Experience and education factored into salary placement.  Positions are available.
