Potential Opening – Teacher: Secondary Math

Due to a potential retirement, Shickley Public Schools has an opening for a secondary level mathematics teacher; to begin the 2021-2022 school year.

SPS is looking for a an exceptional teacher that is collaborative and passionate about doing what is best for ALL students.  Courses currently taught include Math 8, Algebra I and II, Geometry, Math Standards, Advanced Math, and Calculus (for dual credit through Peru). 

A Masters in Mathematics is highly encouraged, but not required.

Coaching opportunities through the BDS COOP as well as other Shickley activity sponsorships may be available; but not required.

Shickley is a rural school with a very successful PK-12 school system.  Class sizes, on average, are 9-10 students per grade K-12. Shickley also operates a Rule 11 daycare and preschool; serving children as young as 6-weeks-old.  Shickley High School participates in sports under the Bruning-Davenport Shickley (BDS) Cooperative; which has also been very successful. 

Shickley is located 80 miles SW of Lincoln, 45 miles SE of Hastings, 65 miles SE of Grand Island, and approximately 35 minutes from Interstate 80. Shickley is a small town with huge support from its community, local foundation, and residents.

Additional Information

2021-2022 Base Salary is $37,275. Shickley does allow each candidate to receive full recognition for years of experience and his or her degree and hours held. 

Dual-option insurance ($1,050 PPO / $3,600 HSA) provided up to full family medical and employee dental.

The annual 21-22 contract is: 185 days with 2 personal days and 9 accruing sick days.
