Head High School Volleyball Coach

Shelton Public Schools is seeking a dynamic and student-centered leader to serve as Head High School Volleyball Coach for the 2026–2027 school year. We are looking for a coach who is committed to building a competitive program while developing student-athletes academically, athletically, and personally.

Position Overview
The Head Volleyball Coach is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and supervision of the high school volleyball program. This includes program development, practice planning, game preparation, supervision of assistant coaches, and fostering a positive team culture aligned with school and community expectations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and lead all aspects of the high school volleyball program.

  • Develop and implement practice plans that emphasize skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

  • Promote academic accountability and positive character among student-athletes.

  • Supervise and evaluate assistant coaches.

  • Coordinate offseason programming and youth development opportunities to build program continuity.

  • Maintain compliance with school policies and Nebraska School Activities Association (NSAA) regulations.

  • Communicate effectively with student-athletes, families, administration, and community stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Valid Nebraska Teaching Certificate or Special Services Certificate preferred.

  • Coaching authorization or eligibility as required by the State of Nebraska.

  • Previous volleyball coaching experience preferred, ideally at the high school level.

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Commitment to building a positive, competitive, and sustainable program.

Compensation
Compensation will be based on the district’s extracurricular salary schedule.
